Day 58: Rust Belt Books
This was in Buffalo … I’ve never been in a better used bookstore. If you’re around Buffalo and love books, Rust Belt Books is a must peruse (I even uploaded this picture to their yelp review page and gave them five stars).
I picked out Bill Bryson’s Walk in the Woods and Bruce Feiler’s Abraham, and Eric picked up Steven Pinker’s The Blank Slate. I quickly made it through Walk in the Woods about the Appalachian Trail, and let out a yelp when we crossed the trail itself on the Mass Turnpike. It’s no John Muir Trail (not a point over 6643 ft!), but it’s a heck of a lot longer (Approx. 2175 miles through 14 states). It was fun to read about hiking on this side of the country. Sadly Eric hasn’t picked up Pinker again after that leisurely pre-graduate school day, and I’ve moved on to chick lit from the library.
